As I sit waiting for my car to warm up (it was -50 with the windchill, my goodness!) I find myself thinking about this past year. The ups and downs, all documented on this blog site. It was a tough year all things considered, and yet here I am. I crashed a car, but I got my commission. I went back to school, but I broke the bank. I went back to Quadra and had the time of my life, and I also had more mental strain than I thought I could handle.

If 2013 was any sign of what's to come in 2014, it's gonna be more school, work, and cadets. Which means more time juggling, more penny pinching, and more (hopefully) promotions and Quadra. If you've been with me from the start, thanks for sticking around. If you stuck around for any of it, well hey, thanks for that too.

Happy New Year,
Crazy Square

PS: I'm not blogging in 2014. Screw that.

Spending my evening watching the Eleventh's Swan Song Trilogy. Why? Because why not.

Spent my day doing some much-needed running around. Took my laptop up to Future Shop, who managed to fix my DVD drive. My iTunes is also fixed, although I'm not sure how. But in the meantime, I'm trusting it to not break and destroy anymore Apple products.

Got the rest of my grades back, I got As in five classes, B+ in two, and passed the Production Lab. I was rather hoping for all As, but B+ isn't half bad either, considering my high school grades.

Okay, I think I've just about had it with this piece of garbage.

About six months ago (if you remember that far back, I made a couple posts about my computer troubles), I had to get a new computer. And after I took it in to get a wire in the screen replaced, I found out something about this computer doesn't like Apple products, since it put three iPods and two iPhones into recovery mode and wouldn't bring them out. And I know it's the computer because we tried the same thing in another computer and it worked fine.

Now the problem that I have is that it isn't reading DVDs. I literally just put a movie in and nothing is reading it. Windows Media Player and VLC can't find it, and even My Computer isn't registering it. So I tried putting in another movie, and still nothing. So it's going back to Future Shop and it'll be their problem until they can figure out what's going on.

Only a few more days left in the year! Hard to believe how quick this year is gone, and now it's almost over.

Worked a shorter day than I was expecting to. I woke up to a text from my boss telling me to come in at 4 instead of at 1, which was fine with me. I got to do some running around, so I'm glad I had time to do it. It was dead for most of the day because the weather has been pretty bad lately, especially today.

I had to return the shaver that I got for Christmas because it didn't work for what I wanted it for. I was a little disappointed, but it is what it is. So on Monday, I'll look around and see what I can find for a new one.

Had the chance to visit a cousin of mine who I only get to see a handful of times every so often. But being home for the holidays, my sister and I took advantage of the opportunity to go say hi. I met his girlfriend and her daughter, got the chance to sit down and catch up. It was good. And afterwards, my sister took me up to Walmart so I could get some more movies that I couldn't get yesterday.

The rest of my day was spent beating the latest Kingdom Hearts game, which had been sitting in the 3DS neglected because I couldn't find the charger. Now I wait until the third game comes out, hopefully I'll have my PS4 by then.

I have a problem with money.

There's something strangely ironic about the fact that I've only started wearing bow ties after the Eleventh's regeneration. But at 70% off, I'd have been a fool not to.

A part of me has always enjoyed Boxing Day shopping; a good chance to spend the money you got for Christmas to buy the stuff you wanted but didn't get (which for me this year were movies and bow ties). But another part of me hates it, specifically the part that has to work retail. I worked Christmas Eve and Boxing Day last year and this year, and while I enjoy the time and a half wages, I'd also like to enjoy not working on the two busiest days of the holiday season. Granted that this year we weren't as busy, but we did have quite steady bursts throughout the day.

Oh well. Time to sleep.

Oh, what a day.

Christmas gets more tiring by the year. This whole "getting old" stuff sucks. I could barely get through the day without having to take a nap.

Got a new shaver so I don't have to keep wasting money on razor blades. I also got some clothes, money, and a couple movies I'd wanted. All in all, decent haul for gifts this year.

But the real highlight of my day came in the evening. The Time of the Doctor. The Eleventh's regeneration was as emotional as the Tenth's, which is saying something. The special itself was pretty good, although I'd called a major plot point from as far back as the 50th anniversary. We'll see how the Twelfth does in the fall.

I think I'm more excited for a day off than I am for Christmas itself!

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas. Who doesn't love getting free stuff? :P Which, let's face it, Christmas has become so incredibly commercialistic that that's what it's all about nowadays and anyone who says otherwise is in denial. Hopefully I get to sleep in tomorrow at least a little bit, unless my cousins have anything to say about it.

I hate cleaning. With a passion, I hate cleaning.

So when I have to clean both the family room and my room, it doesn't exactly make my day. And on top of that, I got called in to work. So now I'm dead tired, hopefully I'll get up for my shift tomorrow.
